Remember the impact Melechesh’s “Djinn” had on extreme music? It was something that came to my mind when listening to Oshiego’s fifth album, which by chance (just by chance) are not even the Middle East, but Singapore. However, the theme here seems to be something connected to the region mentioned above and we even have some characteristic melodies – which always work well in a heavy context and always give an extra touch of class. “Jaljalut” is uncompromising death metal, with some melody but more focus on brutality. His conception of melody is the one that brings us closer to a band like Bolt Thrower than to Hypocrisy. Despite being the fifth work, for sure this band will reach many for the first time. And make a good impact.
